Aaron is a professional engineer with a strong background in civil site development. He came to TEI to apply those skills on the public side of the right-of-way line. He is passionate about creating resilient communities and designing cities that work for all people and do right by the environment.
As an Associate III with TEI, Aaron’s skills include design of trails and multi-use paths, multimodal transportation, and stormwater management for streets. He especially enjoys integrating green infrastructure to create green streets that can do double duty in traffic calming and treating stormwater before it enters our waterways.
Aaron is a lifelong Texan and proud son of Mexican immigrants with strong family ties in Tamaulipas and the Huasteca region of San Luis Potosí. He lived his earliest years on the border in Reynosa before moving to Houston as a kid. His work and personal passions are strongly influenced by the orientation to shared public space that is prevalent in Mexican urban design, and by his love of and commitment to the natural world. After graduating from Carnegie Mellon, Aaron moved back home to Houston, and is a proud resident of Magnolia Park in the East End.
In his free time, Aaron loves to spend time outdoors biking/hiking/skiing, travelling, tending to his ever-growing pollinator garden, and watching sports with his wife and 3 dogs. You can usually catch him bopping around the East End on his bike.
