Texas-Based TEI Planning + Design Joins Alta
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE [October 8, 2026] Houston, Texas-based planning and design firm TEI Planning + Design (TEI) has joined national sustainable communities consulting firm Alta Planning + Design (Alta).
This partnership establishes Alta’s newest regional office in Houston, led by Geoff Carleton, AICP, and deepens Alta’s expertise in its foundational multi-modal transportation disciplines while expanding capabilities with services in traffic engineering and transit planning to provide more holistic, comprehensive solutions for clients.

Alta has partnered with communities in Texas since its founding, most notably through the Great Springs Project, a 100-mile proposed greenway system connecting Austin to San Antonio, providing significant economic, environmental, and recreation benefits along the way.
Alta’s Transportation Demand Management (TDM) team is also supporting the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) Regional TDM Program to identify equitable transportation strategies in the Austin area. Other recent examples include Alta’s partnership with the City of El Paso on its Vision Zero Action Plan.
TEI’s strong relationships with communities throughout Texas and the Gulf Coast further accelerate Alta’s capabilities to support clients across the South and beyond.
